Department of Citizen Affairs at the College of Law, Al-Qadisiyah University

An administrative department directly linked to the dean of the college. It is concerned with citizens’ affairs, including receiving suggestions, inquiries, and opinions to address citizens’ problems in the college, if any.   In order to develop the level of university performance, the Citizens Affairs Department seeks to enhance communication between auditors, departments, divisions, and administrative units in the college, and to overcome the difficulties that they may encounter during their review with the aim of completing their transactions within the limited times. This department aims to organize administrative matters related to citizens’ affairs, listen to their complaints or receive their requests to express an opinion regarding them, and prepare the study to be presented to the Dean of the College to find appropriate solutions.   Directly supervising the organization of the Dean’s interviews to solve problems and listen to citizens directly.

Objectives of the Citizens Affairs Department

1- It represents the most important section regarding citizens’ affairs

2- Providing the best services to all citizens.

3- Direct and continuous communication with all relevant authorities related to requests

– Tasks of the Citizens Affairs Department

1- Receiving citizens, listening to their complaints, and directing them to the authorities that pertain to their requests

2- Receiving all applications addressed to the Dean of the College and presenting them to him to express his opinion on them

3- Direct supervision of organizing interviews for the Dean of the College

4- Communicating with the citizen about the action taken regarding his request or complaint by phone, email, or review.

5- Addressing scientific departments, divisions, and administrative units regarding the citizen’s request or expressing an opinion regarding it

6- Receiving citizens’ requests via phone or email from the Citizens Affairs Department and referring them to the relevant authorities

1- Write the request in a clear and specific manner, taking into account specifying the subject and title of the request

2- Write the full name, sender’s address, phone number, e-mail, department or workplace, and scientific department so that you can answer. Otherwise, any request without the information required to contact the e-mail will be ignored. law@qu.edu.iq

Legal Clinic for Consultation and Training

The Legal Clinic Department at the College of Law – Al-Qadisiyah University seeks to provide its legal services free of charge to government institutions, associations, professional unions, and all individuals in order to extend a helping hand and assistance to all segments of Iraqi society. The legal services available from our clinic are diverse, some of which are direct to citizens who need legal assistance. To them in the form of free legal consultations, some of which are general legal services provided to all segments of society and are not limited to a specific category in itself, including training workshops and legal seminars held by the Clinic Department according to a program designated for this purpose. Community service in Diwaniyah Governorate

In implementation of the training program developed by the College of Law at our generous university, the Continuing Education Department conducted training courses for employees of all governorate departments to train them on legal and administrative skills in the context of dealing with investigative committees, reports, and referrals to courts, in order to develop those legal and applied skills in this field. The College has trained Employees from the following departments:.

–              High Commission for Human Rights/Diwaniyah Governorate Office

–              General Directorate of Education in Diwaniyah Governorate

–              Notary Public Department in Diwaniyah

–              Diwaniyah Governorate Police Command

–              Diwaniyah Municipality Directorate

–              Martyrs Foundation/Diwaniyah Martyrs Directorate

–              Employees of various colleges at Al-Qadisiyah University

There are more training plans to include and train the largest possible number of governorate employees

Ramadan campaign for the College of Law, Al-Qadisiyah University.

The College of Law, Al-Qadisiyah University, represented by a group of its students, employees, and faculty, and within the Ramadan campaign to distribute food baskets to needy families, distributed 500 meals in two stages within the framework of cooperation, social solidarity, and community service.

Under the slogan (The University in Community Service), the College of Law at Al-Qadisiyah University organized a group breakfast at the nursing home in Diwaniyah. Almutamayizayn high school students in Diwaniyah visit the college legal museum.

As part of the community activities of the College of Law, Al-Qadisiyah University, our college received almutamayizayn high school students in Diwaniyah, where the legal museum in the college hosted a group of distinguished students. They were received by the Dean of the College, the respected Professor Dr. Nidham Gabbar Talib, and the Museum Director, Assistant Professor Dr. Safaa Miteb Al-Khuzaie. The dean addressed the visitors and introduced them to some legal information, the importance of the law, and the bearer of legal thought, including a lawyer, judge, jurist, and academic in the community. The director of the Legal Museum also introduced the students to the museum and the important sculptures and antiquities it contains that formed the foundations of historical laws and the basic sources of laws

 A tree planting campaign launched by the College of Law

As part of the national campaign to combat desertification, the College of Law, with all its students and employees, planted various plants, including roses and trees, inside and outside the college as part of this campaign.

Community legal culture programs

The College of Law participates in the Al-Masala Legal Program, where Diwaniyah FM Radio hosts the college’s students and professors in various legal and cultural programs, the most important of which is the Wednesday Cultural Forum. And a program of dialogue sessions and a program of peaceful demonstrators, in addition to the weekly participation of college teachers in the human rights program, every Friday at six in the evening, broadcast live on frequency FM 88.1.

Scientific visit

In order to increase mutual legal awareness between the academic institution and state institutions and to learn about the roles played by the college and these institutions, the College of Law conducted a scientific visit to the Community Police Department in Diwaniyah, under the supervision of both Assistant Professor Dr. Walid Hassan Hamid and Dr. Alaa Abdel Amir Musa, a group of second stage students were accompanied, and they were introduced and informed about the roles that community police play in society, and the competencies granted to them by regulations and instructions.

A delegation of the staff and students of Imam Al-Kadhim College visited the Legal Museum in the College of Law and viewed the museum’s sections and the scientific and historical figures and legal data it contains representing different time periods. The delegation also toured the college’s corridors and learned about the development and achievements witnessed by the college

A field visit within the objectives of community service

Within the interests of the College of Law, Al-Qadisiyah University, and its humanitarian mission towards society, and under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Law, Al-Qadisiyah University, Professor Dr. Nidham Gabbar Talib, and in coordination between the Student Activities Division and an elite group of college staff and students, a visit came to the care home for people with special needs in Diwaniyah (Al-Amal Institute for the Deaf, Dumb, and Hard of Hearing). The goal of the visit is to plant a spirit of smile, hope and optimism in their hearts, and to learn about the legal problems they face in order to study them and submit proposals to address them.

Within the interests of the College of Law / University of Al-Qadisiyah and its humanitarian mission towards society, and under the auspices of the Dean of the College, Professor Dr. Nidham Gabbar Talib, and in coordination between the Student Activities Division and an elite group of college staff and students, they visited the nursing home in Diwaniyah for the purpose of providing them with winter clothes and medicine, exchanging conversations with them, and cultivating the spirit of smile and communication. With them and make them aware that there are children asking about them and checking on them to ensure their health, as well as learning about the legal problems they face in order to study them and submit proposals to address them.

Scientific visit

A group of students from the College of Law, accompanied by the staff of the College’s Legal Clinic, visited the Human Rights Commission in Diwaniyah, where a dialogue workshop was held during the visit on how to defend human rights.

A field visit within the objectives of community service

Within the concerns of the College of Law / University of Al-Qadisiyah in its duty towards society and under the auspices of the Dean of the College, Professor Dr. Nidham Gabbar Talib, the Student Activities Division, in coordination with a group of college students, visited the State House to care for the buds in Diwaniyah and presented them with some modest gifts for the purpose of planting a spirit of smile and communicating with them. They were also invited to spend A day at the college as part of the college’s activities at the annual Basma Yateem Festival.
